Some people do leave their stereo or radio or ipods on when they go to sleep coz for them they can sleep really well with the mellow songs on their radio. And I have a couple of friends who really find it hard to sleep if their radio isn't on when they go to bed. And sometimes I need to agree with them, too...lol It's nice to wait for the "sleep angel" while listening to some mellow love songs or "bedtime" songs.. lol How about you, do you also leave your ipods, radio, or stereo on when you go to sleep? Do you find it lovelier to sleep with some mellow songs at the background? do share your thoughts..:P

I love listening to classical music just as I'm falling asleep. It calms me down and also helps me visualize myself in my "happy place" which by the way the place that I mentally go when I'm extra stressed out! My wife loves to crank up the volume in the stereo, since she says it helps to muffled down the "horrible" sounds of my snores! LOL :)

Definitely not.. unless there is a timer function, then I would set it to off itself automatically. It is too wasteful and disturbing to have the music on when I am already asleep. :P

No Way, I am easily distracted. It is possible that I would fall asleep with music on, but then I would wake up in the middle of the night, when I reached a different sleep phase.

When I am very sleepy ,but someone inside me doesn't let me sleep,I do keep the stereo switched on.It helps me to ignore the inner voices and lose myself in a fictitious world with the music playing in the background. That helps me sleep and when I wake up after a round of dreams,I switch it off and go back to my dreams.I don't have any problems when it plays in the background as long as the song doesn't give me a nightmare.

I love leaving my tape on when am going to sleep, but i have got to discover that when it is deep night the tape might be disturbing another set of people, maybe that are reading when the volume is not lowered. As a result of this i usually set a timer on the tape to go off maybe after 3 hours of goin to bed.I think that is okay?

I dont have an Ipod but i do leave my computer on while going to bed. I run some music on the personal computer with my headphones on. I lie down listening to the music and when i am fast asleep i just will drop the headphones switch off the computer and roll back onto the bed. if my friends come across my pc while i am sleeping they will shut that down.

I don't but my son who is 9 years old falls asleep listening to country music every night and it stays on the remainder of the night in his room.

My iPod Video 30gb is always on 24 hours except Saturdays and Sundays. I use this when I sleep and when working at the office.

a few years ago i had developed the habit of going to sleep while listening to my walkman. my room-mate used to pull my legs by saying that after i go to sleep she enjoys listens to the song that's still being played. personally, i don't like anybody else in my room leaving the music system on and going off to sleep. i simply can't stand it. after my marriage, i do listen to my ipod while going to bed but i've stopped leaving it on.

No, I like to have peace and quiet when I go to sleep. I don't think I would be able to fall asleep with tunes going on. However, sometimes when I'm on a road trip, I fall asleep while listening to slower songs on my iPod. This would be an interesting thing to try though. Maybe I could fall asleep faster if I listened to some soft melodies while trying to sleep!

When I was in high school I would sleep with the radio or TV on every night, but now that I am married it's fine. I usually turn it off. It was more of something to wind down and get my mind calmed before heading to bed.

i sleep better with the radio on, tuned in to the late night radio show with really mellow songs, love songs that make me sleep better. it soothes my nerves and lulls me to sleep. it's kind of like parking my thoughts at some place after giving it a moment or two. it also makes emotions i felt during the day resurface to find it's resolve. it's kind of like wrapping my day up before i sleep.

For years I slept with the radio on, usually listening to the BBC World Service as I found the constant voices very soothing and it reminded me of my youth as my mother used to do the same. Nowadays I rarely do it any more, I just feel I don't need it as much.

Sometimes yes, sometimes no... lol yeah, there are times when I feel like falling asleep with some nice music background, especially when I wanna go sentimental or emotional... but there are also times that some music even the loveliest ones annoy me when I try to get a sleep.. I just don't know why... lol

I do one worse -- I leave my notebook on and running random episodes of The Simpsons :) It's amusing to wake up in the morning (or afternoon, depending on the day :)) and hear some random idiotic comment or noise from Homer Simpson. Waking up with a giggle is a good feeling. I can't really tell if it helps me sleep or not; if I go a night without it, I am *aware* of being conscious longer before I drift off, but who knows whether the noises wake me up at night more than other sounds from outside do...
