Amazing Film

March 20, 2007 6:40pm CST
I absolutely love this film, and have done since seeing it when it first came out in the cinema. I've heard a lot about how many people don't like it because it's dark, but in my opinion, the film deals with a lot of "dark" style issues or serious issues in a friendly way. What do you like about the film?

I saw Return To Oz a number of years ago and am wondering if they relaeased a new version of it.I made the mistake of trying to compare it to The Wizard of Oz (or even The Wiz) and therefore ruined it for myself.Maybe watching a newer version would help me.

Let me see if i can guess before you say....Hmmmmmm.. Actually, i can't think of any films i've seen that deal with any dark issues in a 'friendly' way..Maybe a 'scary' movie from Disney...I think 'American History X' deals with darker issues in a 'therapeutic' way, a way that shows others how that kind of mind-set is destructive, wrong..But it is a violent film with strong language. I am curious to see which movie you are referring to~

It's called Return to Oz. Once again, sorry that I didn't put the title in the topic field - I thought it came up in its own group! Thanks for your contributions!

I also love this movie! I often watched it as a young child and still to this day enjoy watching it! Maybe it is not as true to the books as many people would like, but it is still an amazing movie! I think that Fairuza Balk is a great actress as Dorothy.
