Do you think that this cub should have been left for dead?

I just ran across an article about people at the zoo who took over a baby cubs upbringing when the mother abandoned it. Some people think they should have left it and let nature take it course. But how do they know that in the wild the mom would have abandoned it. Maybe the zoo had something to do with her neglecting her cub. I think the zookeepers were right to save that baby cub. I think letting it die would have been a cruel thing to do. When someone sees something suffering they should always help. Thats just my opinion. What would you have done??
