What's Adware and how can I get rid of it?

My anti-virus detects an adware virus from my system and it keeps popping up on my screen every minute, but it seems my antivirus can't heal it, it only says successfully deleted but after a few seconds it pops out again.

use this:
www.spybot.info/
takes out most spyware and adware.
it's a virus scanner suppliment,basically.

Thanks, I actually have three antivirus, spybot, AVG, and Avast...but I just noticed that I havent updated my spybot and it's quite outdated, I'm upgrading it now...Thank you so much
