I went in to the doctor today and since I have been having some problems with my pregnancy and trying to go into labor too early, the doctor decided to give me a steriod shot that develops the babies lungs sooner. I have to go back in tomorrow for the second and final shot to help the babies lungs. It hurt sooo bad.. I was wondering if there were any other moms who had to have this shot and did it hurt really bad or am I just a wuss?

Yes i had to have that when I was pregnant with my now two year old. I was 25 weeks along when tthey thought they were going to have to take him out. I have a very high pain tolerance so it didn't hurt me that bad. So i guess it probably depends on your pain tolerance on whether it really hurts. He ended up being early but not that early. He was born at 34 weeks! Good luck at the doctors. Take a deep breath as they are injecting the needle. You will be ok. I promise!

I also had that shot when I went into labor at 32 weeks. I really didn't think it hurt too much, but I was also kind of out of it because I was so stressed at being admitted into the hospital for pre-term labor. Just try to remember how incredibly important this shot may end up being to the health of your baby. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully that baby keeps baking for awhile longer.

how early are you? i've had this shot too. i didn't find it hurt. probably because i was in the hospital and my daughter was 3 months ealry and i had doctors comming in and out to talk to me at the time they were giving me a bunch of needles so i wasn't paying much attention to the needles. i spent 7 days in the hospital and got 9 shots in that time so i got used to it. good luck with everything. just to let you know my daughter was born at 27 weeks and she's perfectly healthy and normal. with today's technology more preemies survive so don't worry too much.
