I have no idea about halo. It must be very delicious, although I only see its picture. Here in China, I like to have "liangpi", which is cold and also delicious.

Halo-halo is indeed a refreshment, but you'll sweat also after you finished eating it. Because it has sugar in it, and that is 'yang'. Fruits are more suitable for the summer season, like melons(cantaloupe), coconuts, lemons and grapefruits are good for rehydration. Make some home-made fruit juice or shake from it, just try putting less sugar on it. It would be good if you substitute sugar with honey, as this is a more healthier approach!;)

halo-halo is definitely a treat for summer! but, i also eat banana con yelo. it has very simple ingredients - banana (saba variety), water, sugar, and crushed ice. you can add milk if you want. Mais con yelo is also delicious. Just replace Mais (yellow corn) with Banana and that's it! Also, you can replace banana and mais with Monggo seeds. Just boil the banana, mais, or monggo till they are tender and mix it up with the other ingredients and that's it! Hmmm..delicious ! Enjoy! :)

Yes, I love to eat halo halo during summer. It's very delicious and nutritious too because of the many ingredients and it has milk too. I also eat mangoes which are abundant during summer, both the green and the ripe ones.
