i admit, im a loud person, i shout a lot! when im happy i shout, when im talking im loud. everything about me is loud. so i'll advice you to tell me the truth. When im with my friends, they tell all the time to keep quiet and im not offended at all. We just laugh about it. You just have to tell the person in a nice way.

it is disgusting to work with loud people either at home or office. frankly speaking, i am very sincere and reserve by my nature and i do not like personally those persons who boast himself, talkative nature. my friend, relatives and colleagues know that i am straight forward.

I do and in fact, I am a bit loud. But no big fuss about that. Teaching is a stressful job and if we don't lighten up a bit, we will all die of stressed-induced illnesses.
Loudness has nothing to do with being tactless or whatever. But if the loudness of a person is already really that misplaced, then, I choose to keep my distance.

Loud people usually are the coolest and funniest people.... they are the one who are too confident to say anything they want and would not care if they are right or wrong as long as they make their point.
I don't care if a person is loud as long as he knows his limitation like for example your on a serious conference, or on the church or maybe if you are sleeping, they should know when to calm their mouth..... or else I'll staple his lips for good....hahaha...nah! just kidding

Now adays you find a lot of people like this. I personally think this is due to watching tv while discussing. THat is, when you watch tv and talk, others who watch tv will increase the volume of TV, and then you have to raise your voice on top of it so that the other will hear you. This is a never ending thing and difficult to get out of. Most of our kids do this due to the above reason. Most of school teachers and people who work in factories and machines, talk loud. Also deaf people shout. If i come across a person, i always start talking very soft, then the person get a hint and start talking softer. This is practical. If this wont work, you can always tell the person in a nice way, "hay, dont shout". When my kids shout, i tell them 'talk softer, i am not deaf".

I think what I do is just get along with them. After all, loud people are the ones who in the end is the ones who are not afraid to tell the truth and usually these people are successful people. So they are important to the field you're working in. I dont think there are much to be ashamed of. Just be more open and not be too sensitive if people make fun of you.

Well, I have worked with a particularly loud person for some time. We will refer to him as Nescafe. He is an instant expert, and loud with it.
I find the best way to reduce the number of decibels in the office is to wear ear defenders. This not only protects my ears from damage, but also gives Nescafe a subtle hint to shut the f*#k up.

Well said Witty. Why should we hearing people have the wax blasted out of our ears by these loud, shouting types. This is a self perpetuating situation, the deaf blast our ear drums, we then become deaf start shouting ourselves only to deafen others. Perhaps this is evolution in it's crudest form, maybe in years to come our ears will be the size of snakes and mouths the size of lions. Is this a picture you conjure up when looking across your desk at your work colleague :-)
Now for a Nescafe
