What time should school begin for middle school students?? (6th-8th grade)

My son is in his last year of middle school. From the beginning he's had to be in class at 7:25 am. Every morning he has to get up at 6 am to be ready for the bus. I feel that school should begin later in the morning for teenagers especially since so much study has been done on how much sleep a teenager needs...I've heard anywhere from 10-12 hours. what do you think?
