Better off DEAD? Some want to kill a cuddly polar bear cub!

His mother rejected the poor little fella, so some zooworkers are bottle feeding him and have adopted him by taking care of him, giving him an extremely large stuffed bear to play with and the workers play with him too.. but some folks are saying the bear should be killed rather than live in the zoo.. Every zoo I've ever visited I felt a wee bit jealous of the animals..! Anyway, why would it be better for him to be dead? Is this a new kind of thinking?

I just responded to one of my friends she is just as upset, I just hope that they will be able to accommodate him when he is fully grown. As I said in the other discussion, people working at zoo's aren't just there to clean cages, they are highly skilled, educated individuals in their field, and they know what they doing.
He will be taken good care of.

...they've amended their news report to "they thought it would be better if the cub was allowed to die.." - but I suppose, in the end, it's the same outcome.. I've never been to a bad zoo, although they're probably out there. I love it that my kids and grandkids can see the animals at the zoo, instead of only on television.. But I hope there's good regulations, and they're enforced! It's hard to imagine people not doing all their best for the animals! But then there's people who abuse people (and kids!) so I'm sure it happens. I'm happy to know that the ultimate reality and 'end' will be freedom and only blessing for all God's creatures, even his rational ones, and friendship between them all.. "the bear will graze with the cow.."

I have read this several times on gather and mylot the last few days. It is so sad that we as humans value life so little that we would kill a little polar bear. I am just so saddened by this news.

I think that is rediculous. Why kill the poor thing if it can survive and be a healthy addition to the zoo. That's crazy and I can't imagine why people would think that way. I'm sure as it grows it will be introduced to other bears and be able to function as a normal part of the community - as normal as it can being in a zoo.

I love zoos! I hope they all do their best to be good zoos! Good for the animals.. Someone should write letters to all of the zoos telling them if they're not careful they may become politically incorrect! Losing the zoos would be a great loss.
