I think I have a crush on a best friend of mine, a guy. He has a girlfriend - and has for several years. I've heard that two people of different genders can never have a completely platonic relationship.Is that true? Should I just give up?

Pursue your own happiness.. don be afraid wat is in front of you.. but do weight the pros and cons.. i told my best friend i like her and she avoided me ever since.. i lost a friend.. but hope he wont do the same to you..

I think that people of different genders can just be friends but it sounds like you are not. It must be hard for you knowing that he has a girlfriend and a long term one at that. It is unlikely that you will be able to tempt him away from his girlfriend and if you do try you may no longer be his friend. If I was in your position I would just be as good a friend as I could be and see what happens. You might find there is someone better out there for you.
