when you are pregnant you are not suppose to eat any hot food thats really not good for the child.. u need to lots of liquid food and lots of juices. take some warm food so that it wont efect the child.

As I understand it some cultures avoid or encourage certain foods based on traditions & folk medicine. If not eating hot & spicy food during pregnancy is part of your culture, I respect your beliefs. From a purely nutritional view point, a healthy diet while pregnant is one that includes a wide variety of foods from each food group. Peppers for an example of a spicy food are a great source of vitamin C.

By all means, eat the hot spicey food! When I was pregnant with my second child I would have cravings for pickled jalapenos. I didn't even care for them before, but I couldn't have enough of them while pregnant. :) Spicey food are supposed to help your immune system, as well. I'm not exactly how or why, but it can't do any damage. Just remember that as the baby grows, you lose space for you "stuff" so you may want to eat less as the pregnancy goes on, just because of heartburn issues. (those jalapenos gave me TONS of heartburn!!) Greatest of luck and best wishes on your pregnancy!

I ate hot and spicy foods while I was pregnant and didn't have a problem at all!! Maybe some hearburn but nothing too bad!! I don't think it will harm your baby, my son actually loves spicy food and he is only 2!!

It's not advised to eat hot food much. In general, during the pregnancy, it's not advised to eat something much, it means - only hot food or too much salty food, etc. I understand you very well, when I was pregnant, sometimes I wanted to eat only fruit and nothing more, and sometimes (especially in the beginning) I didn't want to eat anything at all. But anyway it's better to keep to some diet, full of various products useful for this specific period. You should be very careful in choosing the products to eat as you should think about your baby. Good luck!
