I think it depends...as a parent you definitely have to keep an eye on it, A friend of mine lets her 12 and 14 year old daughters put passwords on the computer so she can't see what they are up to, i think that is very dangerous!

Yes, my stepsister is allowed on only if she shares her password with her mother.

That is not only dangerous, that is plain stupid in my opinion! Parents are responsible for their children and should guide them, not give them passwords and a free pass to do anything they want.

I don't use myspace and I have no idea exactly how it works as a networking place. There are creepy people are there at are looking to prey on young teenagers. We all have seen the stories on the news or you see them catching the bad guys on Dateline catch a predator. Parents needs to take some responsibility in watching what their kids are doing on the internet. If you 15 year old daughter has pictures like ... on her site, she is going to attract attention. This is a much bigger dicussion than is myspace safe-it is about parental repsonsibility and discussions with their kids.

Thank you. What you say is true. A lot of people use the computer and the tv as substitute parents for their children.

Myspace like any other site on the net needs to be used by people who have smarts. I think if kids are going to be on it, then their parents need to be aware of what they're putting on it. I think everyone young and old need to use caution in who they accept as friends and what information they post for public knowledge. When I first had my page, I had tons of requests for adds and I had the "fridge" with magnets that people could post to my page. It was crazy, I ended up deleting the fridge and making my page private because I started getting some creepy stuff. It's all about being safe, regardless of who you are and how old.

I have many friends who have their relationships destroyed over myspace..most no longer have a site their. I will not join the cult, nor will I allow my teenager..it's off limits in my house.

I dont think its any more dangerous than going into a chatroom is! I think myspace has just gotten a bad reputation because it has gotten so huge and almost everyone has a myspace page now. It's not myspace's fault that these sickos are trying to mess with little children. Myspace cant weed out all of the weirdos, it's up to the parents to teach their kids to be more cautious or to limit their time on myspace!

I think if it is a responsible adult having a site with respectable friends then no. However, if it is a young kid or teen, then yes because there are alot of weirdos out there, and I don't think the innocents are never safe! sometimes.

I think it is dangerous for teens and younger children who have spaces on it and are not monitered by their parents. My children will not get on the internet unless I know exactly what they are doing.

Not, anymore dangerous then any other chatsite, or forum network. I however think myspace is a bit more safer then people think, due to the fact the something is actively being done about the problems there...
