I had a test done in 2005 with the results being "Essentially normal coronary artery disease except mild plaque". I'm not understanding this. I thought all heart disease was abnormal. How can you have essentially normal heart disease? I just read that some people dont even show symptoms of this disease until the have a sudden heart attack. Needless to say when the doctor gave me the results and told me I was fine and had no heart problems I haven't been back to any doctor for my chest pains. What would you do? And is this a normal condition?

Maybe he meant that you had the normal amount of problems a person of your age and gender would normally have concerning coronary heart disease. Which were minimal by the indication of your mild amount of plaque. Doctors speak backwards sometimes, don't you think? We all have some plaque around our hearts, it cannot be helped. So this could have been his way of writing you are normal for your likelihood of that disease. I hope I have not confused you more!
