Do you TALK to yourself?

2 of me - can you see? - A picture of 2 personalities trapped as 1 mass. Very colorful and artistic.

This may sound silly but.. do you talk to yourself? Sometimes, I find that there are 2 voices in my head. It's quite interesting really - they will talk to each other. For those wondering if there is 1 good and 1 bad guy trapped inside me, don't worry. It's not really a good versus evil thingy. These 2 voices are sometimes both good (or both evil); they just represent different viewpoints. In fact they are occasionally good buddies too and just paraphrase each other. :P When I am bored, they do a fair job at keeping me company. When I need ideas, it's a minor brainstorm up there. When I am happy, they scream in ecstasy together. Not bad at all, right? So is there any among you who talk to yourself too?

I haven't reached this point in my life yet. LOL I do have lots of friends old and young who talk to themselves. I am so stubborn I doubt I would listen to my self anyway.

Oh absolutly :))) I have to completely agree with you and concur with you. I quite enjoy the voices in my head. And occasionally I do respond to them out loud. One is my intuition- it often batters the hell out of my logical voice. My kids when they hear me talking to seemingly no one often just roll their eyes at each other and nod as if they think my elevator does not always go to the top floor. What they don't know is these voices have kept them out of trouble and out of harms way many many times. :)) Great post!

I have to admit I do, I mutter while I'm doing things, it started when my boys were little and I used to say what things were and explain what we were doing and why. Now I find I do it anyway. As for the voices in your head, are you sure they are both your own, or are you hearing spirits? I often have a litte vioce that popps up and interupts my thoughts, sometimes 2 of them and I wonder wich one is me, especailly when I realise that the one that is me is just listening and thinking thoughts of my own about the other two.

I talk and answer to myself. So I guess I am silly or weird. Who cares, it's entertaining and company for me.:)

Silly or weird, ABSOLUTELY NOT ! In touch with your inner self the spirit controls rather than the ego, I am sure of. It is in these personal discussions we carry on with ourselves either silently or outloud, that serve as tiny transformations of the soul. I can't stand it when people refer to anyone who talks to themself as nuts, crazy, delusional, psychotic or just weird. It is wrong to assign this negatively connotated label upon an individual who is just trying to figure the frickin' world out ! Tough place--Earth and our existence on it. We got to harness strange and unusual methods to decipher what is really tangible, intangible, concrete, abstract, real or imaginary, spiritually-bound or ego shackled . . . !

I weigh up pros and cons in my head but they aren't actual voices that I'm listening to as such. I'll be thinking that there is a gorgeous girl, just look a those .... etc. and maybe another thought saying ' control yourself, smacksman' but they don't shout at each other, thank goodness. That would drive me nuts!!

Why silly ? my father says the utmost curiocity of a person is the curiocity about himself. It had more than once in my recent past when i was talking to myself, and that too loudly and publicly,(Recently when i was about to face an interview) though i got some funny glances i did not cared for them much. our inner voices tells us about our concious, our guilt, our fears, they are the voices, and it is scientifically proven also.

I like talking to myself. Kind of sorts things out in my head much easier and faster. Thus, I find it promoting mental health. We are doing the same thing, laltu.

Ah. Indeed I do. I hadn't realized that other people noticed that in me until someone pointed it out. Sometimes I just talk in my head but then I have been heard to mumble. A friend perceived it as a form of therapy. I find that conversations with myself can be pretty amusing (I suppose everyone does it but I won't just admit it)...I find them helpful, too...especially if you've got no one else to ask an opinion of (like what to do in an embarassing situation, should I say this or that kind of things)...talking in your head can really sort things out.

I talk to myself. It's sort of depressing really, but they keep me going when I'm bored, keep me awake when I'm tired, and offer up crativity choices when I'm having issues. It's sort of nice to have company or backe up when I need it.

Oh yes, I have been there. Talking to myself asking questions like, who do they think they are, then answering the question.

Unfortunately I talk and answer myself. This is very beneficial at times though. If I talk out a problem I am working on, I can usually resolve it, without getting someone else involved. I think talking to yourself is a very natural activity!

Apparently yes....why? should I say mirror through myself....there are times when were alone and have a chance to evaluate ourselves and the things around. Might as well to realize things to do, have done or looking unto. It's a healthy thing were you'll find a quite time to examine yourself.... accompanied also w/ prayers and communion to God. Will eventually makes me ready and wise to know the right path that would lead me.....

hate to admit but YES. there are times that i found myself talking to myself especially when i am making a decision about something that affects my whole family. I guess silly is not the right word. Let's just say it is our conscience telling us what to do or cheering us up when we are bored.

When I am trying to write something imaginative, I talk to myself instinctive, sometimes I don't even aware of it myself. I think it's good. It's pretty much like you interact with you ego, inner self, or subconscious mind. I think many great pieces of writing, arts are the results of such self talking behaviour.

I have had some very long conversations with myself. Sometimes I even argue with myself. I have been known to accuse myself of not knowing anything about the subject and also of lieing. Then I have to ask myself, if you knew the correct answer, why did you give the wrong one? Then there is the awful battle of do I look good or not. Oh I fight with myself over that one alot!

Thank God I am not the only person who does this. I too have those two voices. I talk to myself all of the time! Especially when I have a major decision to make.

LOL. For a second I found this funny, but as I think back on things i might unconsciously do this. I don't talk to myself to the point where I think I might have some kind of psychological disorder, but people constantly think to themselves & who else is around to answer the questions but themselves? So in some minor cases yes I do. Given I have to make a decision for example, i'll ask myself personally in my head if that's the choice I want to make. SO maybe it's not all so bad after all.

Ok...making yourself company by talking to yourself creeps me out....But seriously talking to yourself and asking questions like - Do I really need it? What if do this or that? Are you strong enough to resist? Ye it really help to do or avoid things you really do not need. Every1 should talk to themselves. It's nothing bad :)
