What are your favorite books you have ever read and why? One of mine is Mossflower by Brian Jaques. It's about animals that are fighting against tyranny. It still has some of the best characters I have ever read. It has a great plot and set up. I have read it about 20 times. The Great Book of Amber by Roger Zelazny is also one of the best. It is defiantly at the top of my list. It took me forever, but I got it done. (over 1000 pages) My favorite scary book ever has to be The Shining. It scared me like no other. Tell me yours.

My favorite book of all time is the Holy Bible. It's the only book that I'm reading. But it consists of 66 books and they're all amazing. A few verses sometimes give a very exciting story like that of the 10 commandments - a full movie and a long one. Another is Samson betrayed by Delilah. There are so many wonderful stories in the Holy Bible.

It's really hard for me to pick a favorite, I have so many. My favorite inspirational book was "The Purpose Driven Life", by Rick Warren. My favorite classic is "Little Woman" by Louisa May Alcott. I have read that one dozens of times, and it never bores me. Jo is such a strong heroine. The characterization in that book is amazing. It's almost as if I can picture myself in every scene. My favorite writing book is, "On Writing", by Stephen King. This is a different sort of writing book, that really puts the craft into a unique perspective. "Cujo" scared me the most though. Something about big dogs going beserk. My favorite genre is historical fiction/romance. I love history. I really can't pick a favorite there, there's just too many.

Nice list. I have not read Cujo yet, but I have it in my bedroom on my "to read" list.

I always read the Holy Bible, the favorite book and best seller of all time. I am a Christian, a child of God, baptized into Christ on October 1, 1989 and I belong to the Church of Christ founded and headed by Christ as shown in Acts Chapter 2. I am given the gift of knowledge and understanding Bible Greek and I translate the Word of God from Greek to English PLAINLY - Greek word into its English equivalent with additional words for grammar purposes written in italics so that readers may delete them when they so desire. I have already published GENESIS, EXODUS, LEVITICUS (Greek-English), THE WILL New Testament (Greek to English), ELEMENTS of SALVATION, The Right Way, GOD, ORIGIN, TRANSFER into PERFECTION, GREEK-ENGLISH (Grammar & Vocabulary), WORDS in THE WILL New Testament, and others shown at http://www.lulu.com/arseniajoaquin My work of translation makes me read the Holy Bible always and I enjoy it very much because the stories themselves are very exciting.

There are so many books that I have read and throughly enjoyed to many to mention but here are a few... Stephen King - Apt Pupil This truly is a great read, if you haven't already you should give it a shot, it has also been done on film. James Herbert - Magic Cottage Another of my favourites but then I don't think there is a book of his that I have read that I didn't enjoy. And the one that I think I would class as my all time favourite would be James Herbert - The rats, as this was one of the first adult books I can remember reading as a young teen purely for pleasure and not for school, it had me gripped that I often had to force myself to put it down so I could get some sleep, the detailed descriptions are great for getting your imagination working. It has been sometime since I last read it so I think it will be one of the next books I read.

One of my favorite authors is Jane Austen. When I read her books, I feel like I'm transported back to her time. I absolutely love Pride and Prejudice. I also love fantasy books, like Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, and Eragon, because I love the feeling of being transported to another world.
