i need to lose about 12 pounds of weight, any ideas?

I need to lose about 12 pounds of weight and would love to be able to do it without starving myself, any ideas?

You should check out sparkpeople.com I use that for tracking my diet and exercise, there are tons of community forums and resources to help you out.

How about increasing your exercise. You could walk more, take the stairs instead of the lift, try to go swimming. There are plenty of fun ways to exercise and you will lose weight without having to reduce the amount you eat.

Of course you don't need to starve yourself. The easiest way is to run. Yes, just go run and I assure you that you would lose those pounds in no time. ;-)

Hi there is an appetite supression gel u can get thru a company online at www.geldot.com ... I lost 30lbs in two months just having one sachet a day which costs about 35p in england. its delicious and really works and i hardly changed my diet at all, just stopped eating potatoes and rice and of course fast foods if you cant get onto that link try agel.com good luck

I am with you, I don't mind dieting if i don't have to starve myself. And here is what i have come up with. I read somewhere that the human body burns an average of 75 calories an hour in sleep mode. So I figured that if i am awake, I should be burning 100 or more calories an hour, just doing daily things. So I stocked up on foods and snacks that are 100 calories or less a serving, and I keep a big Basket on the counter. From the time I wake up every hour I put something in the basket. I even fix my foods in little containers, that way I can use it for one of my hours. I get alot of fruits and vegetables, and I never feel like I am depriving myself, because, I know I can eat what ever is in the basket. trust me, if you have a few cucumbers and apples and oranges in there, it looks like that basket is always full. and I also ziploc single servings of choc. chip cookies, that way i can feed my sweet tooth, I just figure out the calories and bag it so it has 100 calories or less.I am very happy with this way of doing it. and I hope it helps you out!!! This is only a suggesting watch the Calories keep away from fattening stuff and also try the Actimel ny Doc has told me to go on that and not Vitamines because of my Illness and it is very good also for loosing weight

First of all: are you sure that you need to loose weight or it is just a typical woman idea? If you really need you cna try just to walk more, move a bit more and eat a bit less. I don't beleive in any special diet.

yes i too could do with loosing a few excess pounds how about you come and stay with me for a while theres an excellent sauna nearby and after a few hours strenous exercise we could sweat the rest out of us, followed by a very sencible meal and you could choose what we have for desert tc xxx but seriously babe i think eating little and often is the way to loose weight steadily mixed with general exercises walking is the best way and i know you love that in the meantime i'll see what menus i can dig up lol tc love ya xx

yes theres an answer on your problem. I am also fat and that was one of my problem. My life is full of misery and I am so really concious of my size. I cannot go outside, I cannot use my clothes and even riding on a public vihicle. Till my friends introduce to me a product really helps me to reduce weight without side effects. till then it changes my whole life now I can use my dress and I can to the public place. watch what you eat, don't eat between meals, drink 8 glasses of water a day and walk one hour per day. that does it for me!

To lose weight, just change certain bits of your lifestyle. Try to go for a walk or a run (whichever you are more comfortable with) for atleast 20-30 mins every day. The fresh air will add to improving your breathing. Focus on your breathing - it's so second nature to us - we don't think about it. Just focus on each inhalation and exhalation. Use the stairs whenever possible - if you have stairs at home, just go up and down them a few times. Yoga is another good way to lose weight - it helps improve your muscles and keeps you toned. My friend tried the Kellogs 'Special K' diet - where she was having 2 bowls of cereal a day and she did lose a few inches and dropped some pounds.

LOL (I don't mean to laugh eskarena but)you made me chuckle out loud when I saw this discussion. You hit the nail right on the head for me. I too need to lose some weight and FAST! Summer is coming and I put on a few too many pounds over the winter. I will be watching this discussion for some tips that's for sure! I say walking works real fast for burning calories my problem here is that we still have about 2 1/2 feet of snow on the ground and walking just isn't on my agenda til the dryer weather is here. But I will be able to start daily walking soon. I also have gotten my self and exercise bike and put it right in front of the tv. I try to get on it everytime I walk by it. even if it's for 30 seconds LOL! I am hoping this will burn some calories. And drinking lots of water helps too. Good luck

My wife and I have had a ton of success with the SOUTH BEACH mealplan. At first, I thought it was going to be a gimmick, but it is something that you can really stick with a long time. A lot of diets will help you lose 12 pouns within a couple weeks, but this is mostly water weight, etc. Find something that you think you can stick with and go for it. We actually bought a book - You can find it at any local book store - It was on the South Beach diet, and it came with all of the recipes, guidelines to live by. Check it out and see if you like it. i donot think that anybody must think about losing weight anyway's or anytime unless and until he gets into some type of trouble or has some serious problem from it, enjoying the life tensionfree is a real pleasure than worrying about losing weights!

starving yourself gives you the tendency to eat more. i suggest you walk instead of ridin' a car if its only blocks away... second limit your food...example from 2kilo fruits make it 1kilo,then drink lot and lots of water specially if your wathing tv. coz it makes you crave for something... lastly,self-discipline... you must bare in mind that "we eat to live,but we dont live to eat"
