I think that it all depends on the person's personality and the animal's personality. It's hard to say which one is better than the other one. I've had both, and I loved both the same. Both were loyal to me.

Personally, I love dogs and cats both, but I'm more of a dog person. I don't think either is better..it all just depends on what you like and what you're looking for in a pet. Dogs are a lot more work and they require exercise and grooming.. you have to have time to spend with them..and if you're gone a lot, I don't think its fair to keep a dog tied up or in a crate all the time. If you have to be gone a lot and dont have the time to spend with them, then a cat or bird or something may be a better fit. But..you can't play fetch or go to the beach with a cat..and you can't get puppy love from a cat..and there's nothing better than puppy love! :O)) \

I think it all depends on you the person and what you prefer. I have 2 dogs and 1 cat. I feel more of a connection to my dogs than my cat. My cat is more independent and likes his own space, but my dogs are always there and ready for love.
