Laptop - I love my Laptop
They serve two very different needs. I love my laptop because I can carry it with me, but I love my desktop because it can handle a lot heavier work, such as video editing and heavy calculations. If I had to chose I think I would go with my laptop. Nice to always have a computer with you.

Hello there ryanphil01! Honestly I would prefer to have a desktop because they are easier to maintain and when it get broken down, I can easily replace a part and have it running again. I guess my preference is king of bias because I am accustomed to working on and repairing desktops….lol… I have experienced a laptop a few years back but then when the keyboard got messy I had to either spend $150.00 to replace it or settle for a desktop, purchase a new keyboard with optical mouse and speakers for $29.99. Of course, I chose the desktop…lol

it's true that laptop is very expensive in terms of its maintenance and repair unlike in desktop wherein the parts are always available anywhere and cheaper. keyboards and mouses can be bought here in our place at $5 each only (of course, these are not branded ones). i think desktop is more convenient to use during games and video or movie watching because of its big screen and adaptability. using laptop always needs extra care but i like its portability. you can bring it anywhere anytime you like.

It is hard to say which one I prefer, it depends on what you do with you computer. If I use my computer to play a pc game, I prefer a desktop pc because it mostly has much faster speed and operates more convenient than that of a laptop; but if I use my computer to surf the internet, I prefer a laptop, because you can do this anywhere as you like.

I like my desktop better than my laptop. The keyboard and screen on my desktop are easier for me to use and see. Don't get me wrong, my laptop is nice, I just prefer my desktop more. My husband prefers the laptop over the desktop, probably because I'm always using the desktop! LOL

Both of them have their own advantages and disadvantages of course. A PC is better in terms of performance or you don't need the extra mobility, and of course playing computer games on a PC gives much more satisfaction compared to a laptop. But a laptop has its own plus side, that is its mobility to be anywhere you want it to be. There's also the plus of not having any confusing and annoying wires except for what you plug into it. It's portable and you could even bring it out to Coffee Bean and enjoy a cuppa while surfing the net. So personally, I'll still get a laptop when I can afford it. Especially when laptops nowadays pack quite some punch and is getting nearer to their heavy counterparts - the desktop PC - in terms of performance and value for money.

Well laptops are great because you can carry them with you where ever you go! But they are very expensive and can't hold much memory if they are notsome super computer. Desktop pcs are good because they are cheaper and you get more!

Portably speaking, LAPTOP is better. But in Desktop you can do almost things that you would like to do. So I prefer the latter.

i prefer the desktop pc because with a desktop pc I can repair whichever problem by myself. in laptop if you have a problem with vga or motherboard, you can only send your laptop to assistance center. if it is out of warranty you can spend up to 600$ for repair your laptop if the problem is the motherboard or the monitor... the desktop pc is to configuration parity hardware, he is more and more powerful and fast

laptop is indeed very expensive but its portability and size make it more advantageous than the usual desktop. as you said, laptop may have wirelss kind of connection so anywhere and anytime you can be connected to the net. but for your kid, he may enjoy the benefits of a desktop.

I prefer a laptop because like you said you can carry it around anywhere. Even thought it is can be easily stolen too. So laptop wins because of convience but the desktop is great because it can be used by all family memebers even children. I do not trust a laptop around children mainly because it is more expensive to repair.

it's one thing...you have to be more extra careful with laptops because they are very expensive (purchase and repair), might get lost easily, easily stolen, and very fragile because of its design. but they are very powerful because they can do almost everyhting just like desktop pcs can do.

cost vice...i prefer desktop PC but when you actually see it in a different way.... desktop pc which takes a lot of space i meant the room space ..must be used in offices and not for personal use. only a laptop must be used personally ... which is handy and is worth to be said as "personal computer"
• Philippines
31 Jul 07
yes, i do agree with you. laptop is more appropriate to be called 'personal' computer because it is handy and you can bring it anywhere you like just like your own mobile phone.
