Microsoft and Linux which do you prefer

I have used microsoft OS for almost ten years.It is very convenient .Recently I heard Linux OS from one of my friend.He
said linux is a completely different one with much speacial features.Anyone can tell me something about linux?I just cannot stop my curiosity on that OS.Thank you

for me linux is the best. becuase it is much more secure, less bugs and most of all it is freeeeeee.

Most websites are run on Unix machines; Linux is a type of Unix. Why not get an Intel-based Macintosh, then you can run Windows and OS X? OS X is Unix-based.
