now THIS has got to get some responses.. ;) i never could stand him.i always thought he was the most worthless, annoying character hanna-barbara ever came up with. i don't know why all the cartoon studios ever started that sidekick/"babies" stuff with the older cartoons.it didn't put new life into them.it made a lot of people stop watching them.

I have to agree. I love Scooby Doo, all the movies, both animated and live people. I love the series too but not once they added Scrappy Doo, Scooby Dum and Dee, and then later Vincent Price, ghosts, and that kid. I only like the Scooby Doo's that have the whole gang in them. But, yes, Scrappy was a totally irritating little poop. I was never so glad to see that he was the bad guy in the first Scooby live movie and that he was taken to prison [forever I hope]!

I sooo agree! I liked the episodes best when there was more of Fred and Daphne. Once they got Scrappy, they sort of phased those two out. I liked in the Scooby movies where they poked fun at Scrappy, and he was actually the villain. Actually, when I was young, I had a huge crush on Fred. But, alas, I have fianlly realized that he IS animated, and therefore probably unobtainable!! Don't know, maybe it was the ascot he wore!

well, you know..that ascot was kickin' LOL i did notice that-i'm not sure why those two did disappear. the worst had to be the one with vincent price.13 ghosts of scooby-doo,i think it was. scrappy doesn't work, let's add an annoying kid too! yeesh..

Oh that little guy who thought he was being brave & instead - well - he was constantly trying to go at it, only for someone to grab 'em by the tail to keep 'em out of trouble. Eeerrrr - Scrappy Doo? Or Bratty Doo? I think that sometimes the writers burn out, so they add an extra character to re-spark their creativeness. Sometimes it works, & other times, it doesn't. When they added Worf (who was already an established character from Star Trek: The Next Generation) to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, that added a nice boost to the ratings.

i, too, hate scrappy-doo. he's just so irritating. it seems like instead of making matters smooth, he just make it worse. and i think the character is so full of himself. i just hate him.

he definetly makes matters worse.he's jumped in front of scooby-doo on occasion and riled up people. they need to lock him up in the mystery machine more often LOL

I can't stand him, either. Scooby Doo was one of the only cartoons I liked when I was little and when they came out with Scrappy it wrecked the whole show. It was a bonehead manouver!

too many shows in the 80's were making sidekick/"baby" characters and ruining the shows. flintstone kids were even worse. ok..fred's now a kid,and he still works in construction? yea.ok..

Scrappy Doo was the downfall of the show ... not saying that he single handedly killed it but he sure didn't do a lot to make it thrive.

i think the company finally realised most people don't like him-they don't push him as much as they did.just the movie was pretty telling LOL

Prison is to good for that pest! I have hated him with a passion since he came out. i was not surprised at all to find out he was behind the shannigans in the movie. they ruined a lot of cartoons adding stupid characters but scrappy was the worst. of course that kid in The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo was a close second. I only tolerated that show because Vincent Price did the voice over and I love Vincent Price .

vincent price is about the only thing that saved that one.that man had such an unique voice. i was surprised he signed up to do the show.
