We love wheat thins but they are really expensive to buy. The packages are so small also. So I found a recipe that is wonderful and they are nutritious. I like knowing what is in my food. If you try these, be sure to let me know how you like them. My grandkids even like them. They make great snacks to eat when watching TV or while traveling. Wheat Thins 3 cups uncooked quick oats 1 cup wheat flour 1 cup white all purpose flour 1 cup wheat germ 3 TBL sugar 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup olive oil 1 cup water Mix all ingredients together. Roll out onto 2 cookie sheets. (The dough will be crumbly and barely holds together - but rolls out OK). Sprinkle with additional salt, if desired. Cut into squares or diamonds-can use a pizza cutter. Bake at 350. After 15-20 minutes I keep checking the crakers and remove the ones on the edges that brown first. Continue checking every 5 or so minutes. You Can also sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds before baking if desired. All ovens are different some take longer and some take less time than 20 minutes before they brown.

Wow! how neat. Do you make your own wheat germ when you grind your wheat too? or do you buy it in the jar like I do. We also like wheat thins a lot! such a tasty snack that satisfies our salty and sweet tooth both. Looks healthy enough with the olive oil and wheat germ. P.S. I love wheat germ sprinkled on ice cream or yogurt.

This is too cool. Villageanne, you should have your own show. You know how to do so much! At the very least, you should have your own advice column. I can't wait to try these. I think it would be a fun thing for my mom and I to do together. She loves to make new recipes.
