Are you a creature of habit?

Are there certain things that you do every day maybe even at the same time every day? Or maybe even something that you say all the time? If someone you know well were asked a couple of simple questions about some of your habits, what would they say? My friends would tell you that... I drink about 4 cups of coffee every morning and sometimes another 4 throughout the rest of the day. I love Court TV shows and any crime related programs. I take my girls to school every morning and pick them up every afternoon. My van is almost always on empty. If I'm traveling with anyone, I prefer not to drive...even my own vehicle. If you can't reach me at home, call my mama...I'll be there. I almost never use my cell phone, but I carry it wherever I go. I love, love, love working on jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzle books. How about any of you? Are you a creature of habit?

I guess I would be a creature of habit as I do pretty much the same thing every day . It becomes a routine and takes me awhile to change it when I get out of my normal routine . It is nice to change things once in awhile but as I get older I find I am getting more set in my ways and where I used to like to go out and do more , now I would prefer to just stay at home with my family rather then to go out when someone invites us .

I agree that it is nice to get out of a rut sometimes, but sometimes ruts are just better being left alone. We rarely go anywhere ourselves. We did before the girls came along and I miss being more sociable like I used to be. I like having people over as long as they come to my house. Now we do more family things.

It's already very warm here. We've been in the middle 80's so I've been doing my new habit for the warm weather...working nonstop in my flower beds. I love it.

Oh yes, I have my little routine and if something interferes with it then I get a little upset. I get up and have my diet coke, watch tv,put the dogs out, get on mylot, then either help my husband with his business or do my own household chores. If its Friday then I have to go to yard sales.

I like going to yard sales too. You can find a lot of neat stuff there. I need to set more routines for me and my girls, then things might actually go a little smoother for us...especially in the mornings.

I guess I do have a few habits that I hadn't really thught of. Ican't start my day until I have a cup of coffee. I take my dog for a walk after breakfast and after dinner and I have to clean the kitchen immediatley after a meal.

I'm trying to start some new habits of my own. Some things should be a habit like cleaning the kitchen as soon as a meal is finished. My husband would really appreciate that. I need to start preparing my girls for our new house by helping them start some good habits too.

You really are an interesting creature of habit. I would love to hear more. These are good. I do like for my bed to be just right before I get in it too.

I am very much a creature of habit within my "limitations" it seems others are always doing their best to change my habits, or at least my routine which I am still trying to establish with my change in employment recently. I like to watch Waltons and Little House every day. I drink 2 liters of Diet Pepsi every day (can't start my day without it). I have one particular 'my chair' in the livingroom and the dinning room. The first thing I do in the morning is go to the bathroom. The second thing I do in the morning is check my e-mail. After that I'm at the mercy of the world.

2 liters of Diet Pepsi??? Oh my goodness. That is very interesting. I would have to drink them in the bathroom. Plus I would have kidney and bladder infections forever.

I am a total creature of habit. Seriously some things get changed, wham I go nuts :/ But its okay I can deal with change. Just not as easily as some... sadly. I eat the same breakfast every day, I drink the same drink at Starbucks, I do the same stuff before bed each night, etc. Seriously, I think most people have some habits that they keep doing day after day. Its a normal thing to do.

I don't think I would know how to function if things were ever the same day after day. The only thing I can completely count on is my girls are going to drive me crazy every morning. My oldest one just drags around and procrastinates. Then we have to rush out the door to make it to school on time.

As far as the coffee goes, you better believe I need my 3-4 cups in the morning, too! And . . . I love to do Sudoku while watching TV or waiting on people. In fact, regarding TV, I usually can't just sit there and watch it, unless it is something absolutely fascinating! I have to be doing something while sitting there, whether it be Sudoku or other types of puzzles. I give the silent treatment if I am ticked off at someone. After I take some time to process my thoughts, THEN I'll let ya have it!! LOL Admittedly, I do tend to hold grudges. No, I'm not proud of that, but it is a fact. I love cats and all things cat-related. I am a loyal and protective friend. Sometimes I get stuck in a rut.

Gotta have that coffee...I don't usually sit and just watch TV either. That's when I do most of my puzzles. I like all types of puzzles really. I especially love anacrostics. I tend to get stuck in ruts as well.

I am definitely a creature of habit. I like routine and I like to know what to expect. Thankfully, my husband is similar in this way and in that sense we see eye to eye. That being said, I am also a procrastinator which doesn't always fit in with the routine situation...LOL

I'm afraid I am a bit of a procrastinator myself. My daughter is just like me and she drives me crazy. My husband is a procrastinator too.

we are all creatures of habit... it is a matter of defining how hard core we are to the habits *grins* I used to have a routine that I like to follow, and when it is not happening in the order that I like it, the whole day just sort of go out of sync! But after joining the work force, I was forced to change those habits. Now the routine is more or less governed by the day's activities... commuting... meetings... meal breaks... commuting... cooking... bathing... TV... sleep... and the whole cycle starts again the next day.! It is starting to become a hum-drum. If only we could break away from this habit of going into routine... then life would be so much more fulfilling, ain't it?

I totally agree with you on that. Sometimes routines are great...but sometimes it does get a bit boring. I like some routine, but I don't want to get into a rut.

I'm more of a creature of habit in the mornings. I do the same things in the same order every morning before work. I have to do it this way because I am NOT a morning person and I need to get my morning ritual done without using a lot of brain power. :) Like you, I also have consistent preferences and am predictable in certain areas. I think most people are.

I used to pop out of bed every morning and irritate the life out of people with my good moods...but not anymore. It takes me a couple of hours to really get going. My mornings are crazy. I never know what is going to happen...a lot of it depends on the moods of my girls.
