Do you find yourself looking ahead to the future or looking behind at the past?

Do you find yourself reminising about the 'good old days'? Or do you look forward to each new day as it comes? I find as we get older we tend to look back, but some 40 something friends that i have look back at the good old days of when we were youth... How about you?

When one hit 40s there is a tendency to look back. In my case I do compare which generation has better opportunities and what good things you can do then that you cannot enjoy anymore today. This doesn't mean that I dwell on the past. It is good to look back once in a while to learn from your mistakes in the past that you no longer want to commit again in the present.

I do both. I reminisce about the old days sometimes. I think about old friends, school, or where I lived, but most of the times when I think of the past, I think about when I first met my husband. I also think of the future. What tomorrow might bring. Or what I even have to do in the present. Like getting ready to see my in-laws...UGH! LOL

Yes i do alot. these days i do not get to experience a lot. Thinking back on the good all days, the fun, and the laughter keeps my spirits up when i feel trapped by these walls. It also gives me something to look forward to when i get better. I know how good things can be - I know it can get that way again.

I was used to look back at the past and regret. But then, later on i just realized that there are many things awaits me and i still have a very long way to go. I am looking ahead to my future.. hoping that someday when i look back, i will smile..
