A Good Read

I read Angels And Demons about a month ago. It is a very well written book with a good pace. Definitly better than The Da Vinci Code. Although this book is also concerned with Catholism, it has a better story line and pace. It is not too fast nor too slow. It maintains a good pace and never really slows down. However, it is a bit far fetched that a Harvard scholar can jump off from 100 feet and land only with broken bones. Was that Robert Langdon, or Spider-man? I recommend this book to every Da Vinci Code fan. You'll love it. But a better read would be Deception Point.

I thought it was a really great read as well. I agree with you on all points. I have often said it is a better book than The Da Vinci Code. I just hope when the movie comes out the compliment the book well. I didn't like the movie for the The Da Vinci Code. I haven't read Deception Point. Is that by Brown? What is it about?

Yes. Well Deception Point is on a different topic altogether. It's about the games politicians play to win the elections. It's much better than these two.

I might have to check that out! I know how shady our politicians are / can be.

I heard a lot about the Da Vinci code when the film came out but I never saw the film or read the book because there was so much hype about it! I did however read Angels and Demons and thought it was a great read, it just didn't slow down. sure some of it was a bit far fetched but then in a book like that it can be forgiven, surely?! I'm worried though that the film would not be able to keep up with the book and would be disappointing as I find most films after books are. I'd much rather use my imagination than have it there in front of me from someone elses mind!!! Now that you've mentioned Deception Point I'll look out for it, thanks.

I don't know about well written, I though the language was horrible... Maybe it was just the danish translation that sucked!? But it's a very interesting book (read it all in one day).

definitely better than DVC. and it won't get on the nerves of those who don't understand what the da vince code is really about. anyway, yup, it does have a nice continous pace for the duration of the book. read it in one day as well.

Its a book, that never made me think of anything else than the contents of the book and keep me in full concentration. Thats the skill of Dan brown to attract readers, and he din make it to accept his writings rather to enjoy reading, i believe thats Dan brown style.
