It's a fact the humans have their own way of thinking and own understanding. On how we go on with everyday life in a matter of our senses & emotions. Most of us doubt and fear which is common to the human nature. Humans at times can't give specific answers to what is called truth and rely in matters of opinions as to leave it open to people to figure out. Most of what we do is opposite to the spiritual mind. The spiritual mind can only be given by the Spirit -- I'm talking about from the readings of the Bible which mentions the Holy Spirit -- God. Of course if one were to read it they would know the mindset of how the spiritual mind does and do. For example -- In human nature it is hard for us to forgive those that hate us or did wrong to us -- Where the spiritual mind learns to love their enemies and bless those that curse -- You see the opposite here? It's in human nature that we do give in our nature to be angry, lose rage, become violent -- But the spiritual mind learns to be self-controlled, not quick to anger and pray. Obviously in the surroundings of people, we are the total opposite from what the Bible speaks of having a spiritual mindset. What do you have to say about this?

Sad but true humans have developed in every field but unfortunately our inward journey is stagnating. christianity preaches love thy neighbour. But is it really possible. Like you said the mind and spirit have to become one and merge with one another then all divine qualities will flow naturally otherwise it only becomes a struggle and we have to constantly debate our actions within our minds about what is right and what is wrong. when spiritual progress is there divine qualities will automatically become us .

You quoted "Is it really possible?" -- To the human nature we fear and doubt and have questions that sometimes blinds us or what we seek for. From I remember I read that said, "Seek and you will find. Ask you you will receive. Knock and the door will be opened to you." From what I read about the spiritual mind connects to the Holy Spirit -- And the Holy Spirit from what I read is the nature of God's goodness, righteousness and holiness. You said the Scriptures teach "Love your neighbor as yourself." If one were to put that into practice -- It does benefit them, only to the person that does it -- Those that see the example from that either will take it or not -- But from what I know those that live by the spiritual mind was not intended to please people but it was to please God.

The whole foundation of christianity is love. Not the love you and i know ,the love that is unconditional and always giving. Jesus said if some one strikes you on your left cheek show him your right too. if someone asks you for your coat give him your shirt too. this kind of love comes only from the most divine.People show love in different ways but they do expect something in return even a small thank you from a person makes us happy and boosts our ego we call it gratitude, manners. What love we know of is not the love Jesus was talking about .He was talking about love in detachment without attachment.Even if we try to practise such kind of love it is only a practise, back of our minds all the attachment and expection will definitely be there. For us to express that kind of love we need to become as christ and to become christ is a task that will take us many many many life times when we try......... But we can ask the lord to show us that love and when we experience what love truely is, then and then only can we express that love to everything and everybody irrespect of anything.

from the way I understand it, it's got something to do with Freud's Id, Ego & Super-ego. just can't explain it now due to lack of time.
