Nurses strike ...On the news I hear the nurse saying that they want their demands met so they can get back to their patients bedside.
Well the thought occurred to me "Who is at the bedside now while the nurses are in the streets"....I fell very wishy washy about the issue of striking and unions.
I think yes they are good then no they are not.
Do you think it's right for medical professionals, educators, etc to leave their responsibilities to stand in the street with a sign?
Is there a better way?
Are unions a good or bad force?
What are your thoughts

essential service people in quebec cannot strike or people would die plain and simple and I think that is fair. Although I may sympathize with a certain group, not at the expense of human lives.

No I do not think it is right they have the Life of Peoples in their Hands, what will happen to them while they are on strike. To me it is wrong a strike can cost People their lifes and I think that Unions are a bad Force and I have always believed that. It is so wrong but I guess we are only the little People no one will listen to us.

Thanks I agree with you.I think in the beginning it was a good idea but as time went by it became a way to money you don't earn.I'm not talking about every union worker but I do think that alot of people don't give 100% 8 hours a day to the job because they no longer have to.
Thanks

Nurses, Doctors, firefighters or police can't strike here in Ontario. Teachers can strike. I don't think that medical professionals or any of those stated above should be allowed to strike. Unions serve good and bad purposes. They help reach solutions to problems regarding pay and benfits but I think sometimes they can get the worker going.

I think that there needs to be a better way for everyone to sit down and discuss what needs changed in their opinion instead of striking and ignoring their responsibilities. I would cross the picket line just to make sure that the patients weren't suffering. Unions can be good or bad depending on which one you are in. I know with the railroad there is a good one and a bad one.
