During the Holidays...

Oh, we have it down pretty good. I have one daughter that hates to cook, so she is in charge of rolls or a dessert that she can pick up. My daughter-in-law enjoys cooking and she makes the bigger parts of the dinner and then my second daughter-in-law and I fill in with side dishes. It always works out this way and it seems to be o-kay...

my mother always make the holiday spreed and she supplies and prepares everything by herself, she loves doing that and doesn't want anyone to help her with it.

Sort of. When my husband & I have a function where mostly his family come, I know that one sister will bring perhaps a salad, a diabetic sweet, & maybe some meat. His Mother, very asged 7 poor, will bring a packet of biscuits. Another sister will bring a tossed sald. His bother, wife & two kids usually bring very little, but they bludge off us.

When we have a family gathering, normally we will try to call each other on what to bring for the potluck. I'm came from a big family with 12 siblings and 24 nephews and nieces plus brother and sister in law. So imagine if my eldest sis have to cook for all of us. We tried to coordinate the side dishes. The host, who normally is my eldest siblings, will cook the main dish. Everyone of my siblings have their own speciality. So we tends to request for their special dish. Mine will be the most difficult/troublesome to prepare and expensive one - its Black Pepper Crab - my family favourite.
