We have 2 huskies. Tara, our 2 year old, loves jumping and splashing in puddles. She makes a right mess of herself, but she is happy. Kai, our 8 year old, doesn't like to get his feet wet. He will pull me over the puddle without either of us stepping in it. He also hates snow! Imagine that, a husky hating snow! I never heard of such a thing. He actually gets quite pouty when it is raining out, he just doesn't want to go. Crazy kids.

Huskies are wonderful dogs. They have great personalities. Most of them do love the snow. Sounds like your fellow was quite a character.

When I was a child we had a husky that refused to be in the house for more then a few minutes...He was a second hand dog so he was set in his ways.He also hated to bother with his house. When we got snowstorms you could see a hump in the snow and it was him. When there was lots of snow he would did a tunnel a sleep under the snow.He was a strange guy! i have a black lab too! mine LOVES water, but is scared of the waves at the beach :P i'm thinking maybe it's because he can see reflections in the puddle but not in the lake?

Poor guy was a year old in Sept and I got him in August because the guy that had him was going to shoot him.He had had 17 owners prior to us.He was the dog from hell when we brought him home .He is now a good sweet boy!

Doesn't want to get his feet muddy - it's hard for a dog to wipe his feet you know honey!

may be your dog is too clever and is conscious and careful about quicksands that might be present in the puddles ... mostly wild animals are careful about these things..

That is another idea.I never think about quicksand cause we don't have it here. Thanks for your reply R

My dog is very very similar! He loves swimming, but hates his bathes and the rain! I have not really tried to get him over this problem yet, however, I think that maybe using treats will work? I'm not really sure since I have not tried it yet. Good luck with you pup, though!!!

Summer's coming so he can get clean jumping in the river and lake. He's not bad in the shower...I have to close the door tight or he's pushing his way in to bite at the spray. R

Hmmm, odd but I rode a horse once that insisted on jumping every bit of water larger than a small puddle. all the best urban
