Okay, so I have wondered, what brand of popcorn do you all purchase? Do you think you can tell a difference from different brands? Do you believe the more costly brands are better tasting? I was suprised, and so was my husband, to the taste of the microwave popcorn from dollar general. This popcorn only cost $1.00 for a box of 4 bags. My husband was very suprised when I told him where I bought the popcorn and how much it was. For all you popcorn lovers out there who would love to save some money, I reccommend you trying the popcorn that cost only $1.00 at dollar general. I hope you all enjoy it.

It all tastes the same to me, except for the popped ones in the bags. Usually most products are the same, if you read the labels. Not all, but a lot. You pay for name brands more. I go to the dollar store and get many things there for less. Thanks for your posting. I have rated you a + for it. I see you are new. Welcome. I hope you have fun here. There are a lot of nice people here, as you will see. Please remember to rate us a + if you liked it, - if it is yes, no, or one word, and a ! if it is rude or vulgar. If you like my response, would you please give me a "best response?" Thank you. Have fun here and enjoy. Blessings, M&M

Yes I do agree with you that many things are made the same way & that you do just pay more for the name it carries. That is why I love to shop at dollar general b/c I can get so many good deals. I have 3 children and love to and must save money where ever I can. Thanks for your post and have a great day/night.

Thanks! I will try that! I LOVE popcorn! I do rather orville redenbacher out of all that I've tried, but I'm willing to try a different kind! The one I like most is Orville Redenbacher Tender White Popcorn. It's really buttery and salty.

Oh my goodness... I'm English but I was in Oregon just about 21/2 years ago now, and I came across Poppycock's Popcorn. I've never tasted popcorn like it. It was coated with crispy butterscotch and in the butterscotch were large pieces of Pecan and Brazil nuts. Wow... I couldn't stop eating it.
I was there for four weeks, and really got a taste for this popcorn, so when I came home, I looked around for it.... no Poppycock Popcorn! Oh my! What now? I messaged my friend, who went to the store to buy a couple boxes of the stuff, but couldn't find it anywhere in the store, so reluctantly, I gave up! Then three weeks later... I received an instant message, that my friend had found cans of this popcorn, different flavours; had purchased six of them and mailed them to me. Wow!!! I couldn't believe it. I was going to get my popcorn. Naturally, they came surface mail, but I was hoping they'd arrive in time for Christmas. Sadly, they didn't, they came a few days after, but wow... what a wonderful thought. I love my friend! :-)
So, I guess you could say Poppycock Popcorn is my favourite! he he he.
Brightest Blessings.

Sounds like a good deal...:) I, personally, am totally hooked on Erin's low fat low salt prepopped popcorn...it's an obsession and I admit it!!! It is made locally ( not as local as your microwave, LOL) by Tim's Cascade Chips...here in Seattle... I buy it on sale..but can down a bag in a ridiculously short time!! It comes in a variety of flavors ( butter, kettlekorn, original) and they are all wonderful!!!! In fact, you sort of caught me with my hand in the bag with this post!!LOL

I have never heard of that brand. I don't believe I could go for the low fat popcorn b/c I have to have the kind with movie theatre style butter....love that stuff..lol But maybe if I see it anyone someday, maybe I will just have to purchase it just to say I at least tried it. Thanks for your post. Have a great day.

I can actually sorry to say and trust me if i can say a buck i would lol.I love microwave popcorn but I find the lower cost ones don't pop completley and i only get half the kernals popped..so i do buy Orville Reddenbocker because I get good quality for my money..its one of those things i buy brand name for but i do love the dollarama in Canada for tons of other stuff so i'm no snob lol

Thanks for your post! I don't seem to have a problem with the dollar general brand of popcorn popping all the way, well not any worse than others. But I actually do prefer there to be many 1/2 popped seeds, my husband, daughter and I love those & try to get those first before anyone else does..lol Thanks again, have a great day. =)
