Has anyone ever had a real bad leg injury?

I hurt my leg actually almost lost my foot in a car wreck almost two years ago and I am still having trouble walking long distances without some kind of cane or other assisting device. I would love to hear tips from anyone on getting on with ones life after such an injury.
