Do you watch the shows on HBO programming (for those of you who have HBO)? This really isn't just that question, but I have another reason for asking this. Do you watch shows like Entourage, The Sopranos, and Curb Your Enthusiasm because they are good shows? If you, do you think television is better like this? By that, I guess I am asking if you like the uncensored brand of television better. I know that there are many arguments that say that these shows are so much better because of the lack of restrictions they have from the FCC and free reign. My real question is this: is television better without those boundaries? can you imagine some of your favorite shows being on thir forum... a Heroes or Prison Break or Lost, without any of hte network television boundaries?

I like some shows that don't have boundaries. Like The L Word on ShowTime. I heard that Que*r as Folk when on Showtime (or was it HBO?) was much more graphic, than how it is now on LOGO.

I have heard that about those shows as well, although I don't have Showtime. A show that a lot of my friends talk about is Weeds, tehy all tell me it's pretty well-written. I think that is the difference. Like you said, Qu**r as Folk got tamer when it went on basic cable networking. Same thing happened when they began showing Sopranos on A&E. Thanks for the response!

Oh I had forgotten about Weeds. That one was pretty good as well. I think it's cancelled now though. Another one that used to be on was Huff.

My favorite show is on Showtime. It is one of those shows that network couldn't air, because of lanuage and adult themes. It is The L Word. and I watch The Sporanos too.It wouldn't be the same with the cuts it would need and the comerical breaks. It would be terrible. On the other hand, CSI Miami would be great comerical free. And it would be more graphic on HBO.

I feel the same way. Shows like CSI or maybe a Studio 60 could be viewed without any limitations and any commercial breaks. I think it would be a boon on the industry of creative television to do something along those lines. If you watch the Emmys every year, it seems as though more and more awards are going from the ranks of NBC, CBS, ABC, and FOX and going to HBO and Showtime for their original programming. This shows you that these shows are not only uncensored, but garnering critical acclaim. Thanks for your response!

I absolutely love some of the Shows on HBO. My two favorite shows of all time are The Sopranos and Entourage. I don't have a favorite between the two because I cant choose. I also like to watch Deadwood, it's a decent show too, but is just funny to watch. Ive never really thought about it but going back to your question, I would have to say that the main reason I watch these is probably because they aren't censored. The knowledge that anything could possibly happen because these shows aren't censored, is most likely what grabs my attention.
