Another method of tattoo removal is called dermabrasion in which a small portion of the tattoo is sprayed with a solution that freezes the area. The tattoo is then "sanded" with a rotary abrasive instrument causing the skin to peel. Because some bleeding is likely to occur, a dressing is immediately applied to the area.

Other than laser treatments, I don't know of any other way to remove tattoos. You might consider getting another tattoo over it or transforming it into a different design. However, this obviously only works with certain designs. This is why you should put a lot of thought into it before you decide to get a tattoo. When choosing a design you should pick something that means something to you and not just what is popular at the time. This way you are less likely to become sick of the tattoo as time passes. I have heard that it can sometimes take several laser treatments to remove a tattoo, which can be expensive and time-consuming. And they may never completely remove all of the design.
