Imaginary Friend

When my sister's and I were little, we were so close that we had the same imaginary friend. Her name was Sherdine and she would eat with us and sleep in the same room with us. She was pretty cool. We started life in the Avalon Gardens Projects, so my mother was extremely over-protective and we spent a lot of time, just the three of us, in the house playing. We had about forty baby dolls and we would play house and take them to school and church. When we did go out to play, we were only allowed to play with certain kids and most of them were much younger than us. One good thing about it was that we really learned to develop our imaginations and have a ball.
