Lights off when sleeping?

Do you switch your lights totally off when you are going to sleep at night? or you switch on your lamps only and switch off the rest of the lights in your room? I can't sleep with lights on so I have to switch it off completely. Even if I sleep during the day, I have to cover my eyes to have a good sleep. But when my Aunt sleeps in my room, I have to keep even a small light on because she feels she couldn't breathe if she can't see any single light at all. Sounds funny, I know. lol. But I take it into consideration because she hates darkness at all. She can't seem to overcome that fear. Since we don't have any lamps in our room, I just switched on the bathroom light and leave the bathroom door open so at least there would be a little light that will pass through the room. Then I'm gonna put a cover on my eyes again to get some good night sleep :)

I'm flexible. I can sleep either with lights on or off. It doesn't matter to me at all. Well, I hope your Aunt can get over with the fear she has with lights off. It's not healthy. You have to help her realize that it couldn't end her life at all.

I can't sleep with lights on either but my youngest is afraid of the dark and although she has a night light in her room sometimes that is not enough and I have to leave the hall light on for her . On nights like this I try to close our bedroom door so the light is not coming in our room making it harder for me to sleep .

It's always better to sleep with lights off completey, and that's what I usually do. However, sometimes, when I'm completely worn out after a hard day, I doze off with lights on, too, and sometimes, even amongst lots of noises. That's when sleep is so dominant no other factor can override it, but in normal days, I always love sleeping only in the "soft" darkness of my room. I think I have more sweet dreams when I'm sleeping in the dark!

I need to have something on when I sleep. I cannot sleep in total darkness. That drives me crazy. If I need to get up in the middle of the night, I need to be able to see. I don't like pure darkness because it scares me a little.

I'm such a sleepy head, I can sleep with or without lights, day or night! So I might as well conserve electricity by having lights out.

I will turn off all the lights when I sleep usually. But when I'm exhausted I can fall asleep even when the light is still on.And I think the light will attract the mosquitoes.

I can't sleep soundly with light on so I have to switch off all the light before I go to bed. If I stay over night in the hotel room I used to sleep with the bath room lamp on. This is what I usually do when I stay in a strange place.

To me it doesn't mater if the lights are on or off. I can sleep with them on or off. Sometimes I turn the television on as it helps me sleep. But I have a cousin how can't sleep with the lights off. I guess she is afraid of the dark.

It is not funny that your aunt need some light when she sleeps in your room. Does your aunt sleeps with lights on even at her own home or room? I claim to one a good sleeper :P I can sleep with either lights on or off. However, if I am not in my own room, I will need to sleep with some light. It can be any source, as long as the room is not dark. It's just that awkward feeling.

I do not switch off all the lights before going to bed. There will atleast be a small lamp glowing in my bedroom. This is for a simple reason that I can see the time in the clock when I get up during sleep.

i cannot sleep if it is too dark. i need some light in the room. a zero watt bulb is always on when i sleep. without that or the night lamp i never go to sleep. in case you wake up from sleep in the night then it would be difficult if there is not light. i dont get affected if the light in the room is on but only if there is no light

I sleep with the lamp on because of my kids...at the moment they aren't accustomed yet to sleeping with the lights closed...but once they get the hang of it it'll be lights out for me...

Nope i like to sleep in a complete cover of darkness at the night .... even research has proved that keeping lights on and sleeping at night can impair your eyesight
