I think the nature of a brave heart is the mind to have freedom, and corresponding actions to realize that. The most difficult problem is: whether you are ready to sacrifice your life to earn freedom? Yes, the reality is cruel. When a people or a nation that is repressed wants to take freedom, that means, a hard fight is upcoming! It is a dual! Those who can suvive the blood river, can eventually sight the dawning light of freedom.

hey i think the movie is not just about freedom, ok the word "freedom" has been mentioned say.. a hundred times in the movie but look closer the issue lies on the butts of those men who are in the battlefield just taking off their skirts before the arrow rains on them, wailing their butts off to the oppressors. but seriously life without freedom is freedom without life got it?

The man, as is supposed to be, is a free spirit embodied in flesh and blood. Freedom is spirit's trait and does not like to be tied down. Seldom you come across people who are willing to lay down their life for what they believe in. Wiliiam Wallace was one who believed in freedom of not only Scotland but also his own spirit.
