I'm sitting here going literally out of my mind..last Wednesday i was given the wonderful gift a a down payment for a home..what home where i said??? any home...just find one..my parents were sick of me paying 7200 a year in rent..so off i go liking my neighbor i begin my search..i find one its nice needs a new roof not going there...so home i go the real estate agent calls there;s on that had just came up its older needs some TLC would i like to see it??? hmmm its 7:30 pm I'm in my sweats oh what heck..i look at this house the color is one i have seen in many the baby diaper OK lets say dark beige lol...nice front deck OK good. nice wrap around sun deck can see the harbor like that..then i walk in hardwood floors desperately crying to be done over they speak to me ..next the dining room a fireplace a built in in china cabinet ceiling to floor again love is growing.of course i remember to look to enthusied..next the kitchen now i know this house is for me there they are!!! old cabinets with all glass doors my heart beats...the bathroom oh yeah pedestal sink..once i touch the stairs to approach the second floor I feel my grandmother her presence just enters the room like my angels she knows to this is home..so today is the day my Friends i have put my bid in and now i what if you believe in prayers could you sneak one in for me today???
why is owing your first house such an amazing feeling I have rented for years but owning this poor money pit house is become my all consuming dream???

well cheryl, first i want to begin by telling you how happy i am for you. you deserve this more than anyone. you've been through a lot and i know you have an angel above you, she happens to be mine too. its been a rough week waiting on answers, not knowing etc.... but you will finally have something you can call your own...besides john lol. Although i think your pretty lucky to have him too. He's an amazing guy and god couldnt have made a better match, certainly made in heaven! but yes, i too someday soon hope to have my own home, so maybe in a couple of years on mylot i'll be starting the discussion and you'll be posting for me. luv ya, mandy

Owning your own home is a great feeling. As you know you are on your way to financial independence, and to owning a good property.
Also owning your own home means you can do anything you like to it, the colour of the paint, and the gardens.
Good Luck.

Congratulations! That's exciting.
We don't own a house and won't for a long time I'm sure (my husband is military). We are going to be moving into a bigger better house this summer probably, though. It's pretty exciting. I love looking at houses.
Congratulations on your first house! It sounds like you will love it.
