Where are we going with this war.. Does anybody really want us over in Iraq.. Do they really want us there.. It seems that everyday there is something on the news about the war.. I'm sure I'm joined by quite a few who just wish it was over.. Somedays it seems we are wanted over there and others I hear things like down with America.. What is the truth.. Is there any.. Can we really help a country this divided.. I feel for the people over there but I not totally sure that we belong there fighting their fight with them.. I don't want to say pull out and leave them stranded but I don't want our men and women in harms way irther.. So what is the right thing to do.. I don't know.. If I were called to go over there would I? NO.. I don't want to die for a situation that I can't fully understand.. What are your thoughts? Would you go? Tammy

Unfortunately, you hit on the first major point. All you see is what is shown on Television. I have several friends over there, and I am scheduled for deployment soon, and they say it is completely different on the ground. The majority of the Iraqi's love the fact that we did what we did. They had a horrible life under Hussein and even in their decimated state right now, the citizens are enjoying more freedom. You must take into consideration that this country is going through a large power struggle right now and have never been free. Unlike the founding fathers of the US, they have never truly been subject to starting over and don't know how to do it with civility.

I agree but apparently it's different in different areas, I can't personally say what it's like but four of my best mates are royal marine out there and they say in certain places you find alot of the public are appreciative of our presence. But there are still alot of those in different areas that don't necissarily want to fight us but are cold towards our precesence.

i hate to say it,but i think they're wasting time and lives over there.i bet the minute they pull out, another faction is going to come in,systematically kill anybody the US has installed, and it'll start all over again, maybe worse this time. this country is already ridiculously in debt from all this.

inacurate...the u.s. didnt install anyone...the iraqi people at great risk of life selected their own candidates and voted.

I really don't understand why we went there to begin with. It is very sad and unfair for american people to be in total darkness, but we are. Any time I see Bush face, more and more he looks like crazy Bull. His face shows anger and "I am so sorry Mr. President, but I am not buying your bull..s@h@it" I wish we finish this war today.

I was very supportive of the war when we first got there. But I figured it would be over in no time at all with very few casualities. But this is getting to be just too much. They also don't tell us everything that is going on with this war. I don't like it when they keep things from us. I think we should resolve this and get out as soon as possible. I think George Bush has made mistakes with this war and should try to fix these mistakes and get our troops out of there.

You know Im really tired of the whole war thing and I dont even watch it on the news anymore. I think alot of people are feeling like that too. We are not accomplishing anything over there and its a big waste of our men getting killed. Im just thankful I dont know anyone who has gone over there.

Were going to hell if they don't stop the fighting. It's time for the people to realize that the plotters of war are the ones gaining for this crazy war. They are the big corporations. They are using the army to do whatever they want. The presidents are mere puppets of this coirporations, using the power of a president to execute illegal war.

Whatever the very reason of the US behind this war between the Iraqi I just hope it will really serve its purpose. But I'm still hoping and praying that this thing will end eventually. Everyday there are plenty of people who got killed because of this horrible thing. Holy God, it is my immense desire that this predicament will come to its extinction.

its also worthy to note that the u.s. took 27 years to draw and ratify a constitution......27 years....iraq did it in 6 months. a politacal mirical in democratic terms

war is ugly, its big loud and hurts. it invokes alot of passion among people. but we should not let that detract from the importance of whats being done...if we had instant reports durring the the d-day invasion would america have wanted to pull out in the first hour when we lost 10's of thousands? this dwarfs the losses in iraq and that was just in the first hour. the truth is there is in fact a new strategy, and it is working. us troops are working with iraqi troups in local neighborhoods, living and working in the population, meeting local leaders, getting to know the people and their needs and people are opening up now and giving the information needed to weed out insurgents and terrorists. to pull out now would be an action of GROSS irresponsabillity
