Ok, as most of you know I'm a mom to 3 teens. I'm always commenting on what great kids they are and such but love to share special moments that I get with them. Here's yet another time when mom gets to push out her chest proud as a peacock and tell the world. My oldest (yes, this is the one that has recently campaigned to put guardian angels on their gowns at graduation for a friend they lost to suicide this year) often doesn't believe me when I tell her how smart and beautiful and such she is. She's certain that I HAVE to tell her these things cuz I'm her mum. Well, she recently was accepted at a local college that is very good and offers a pre-vet program. The chances of getting into a pre-vet program alone are very intense and hard to come by let alone one at a good school. She was so happy she cried and I of course cried with her. Sometimes I like to share these moments with my friends here because there is nothing in life like these moments when you realize how very lucky you are indeed. AND... I just smiled at her and said "now, see.. I told you.. you are very smart and I'm NOT the only one who thinks so!" LOL

I am also a proud mum to three teenage sons and I can understand your joy and pride. How wonderful to have such great kids that we can brag about them! Brag away - I love hearing about good kids. We always hear about how bad teenagers are nowadays - and yet there are so many good ones. I know your daughter has a bright future ahead of her - congrats to you on raising such a fine citizen!

HunGrY - The Huntingville Green Ridge Youth (HunGrY)Band plays worship music at the Sunday services in one of their two churches at least one or two Sundays a month.
I know those bring tears to your eyes moments... when I see my son so totally into playing worship music on his drums with his Christian band friends. Oh, by the way they just named their band recently. HunGRy ...Stands for Huntingville Green Ridge Youth band. It's a combined youth group band. They play the music at worship services in their two churches.

Congratulations to you and to your daughter! It's great she got the college place, and it's great that she is so certain about her choice already. There are so many kids who have no idea what to do with their lives. She must be a very special person! Having a goal before her eyes will help her during her studying years, and I'm sure she will become a very good vet.

First off I would like to say congratulations to you and to your daughter. Secondly, it seems to me that even though I don't know you, just reading your post, you are a very good and supportive mother. Our children need that in a parent figure. Many times children reflect who it is that raises them. So you must be a very smart woman as well. I think it's wonderful when parents brag about their children. They should. Our children are definitely something to be proud of.
