Do you submit your blog to blog directories?

I am trying to boost the traffic to a couple of my blogs (you can check them out in my profile if you want to) and have started submitting them to blog directories in hopes of gaining traffic. Just curious to know if anyone else has tried this and how well did it work? Do you have any other traffic boosting methods to recommend (real traffic not those banner exchange sites!)

Not yet... I hope to because I've been told that it's a great starting point to getting traffic. I'm very new to blogging and have a lot to learn!

No I don't bother submitting my blogs to directories as they provide hardly any traffic. I have found that if I just keep writing uality content people will start linking to my blogs and hey presto I have taffic.

Hi there,
I have signed up to a few in the past but none seem to give me traffic. If they do, its only once in a blue moon. I prefer to use blog communities instead. Not only do people surf your blog, you can make friends and get readers who come back over and over again.
