I was watching an old episode of All In The Family tonight on TV where Gloria got married. At one point Archie and she have the father/daughter talk that includes their coming to the agreement that she will always be Daddy's Little Girl. This makes me misty eyed every time I see this episode. My Dad gave me away at my own wedding and we had that kind of talk too. My Dad was my best friend in life. He was a great Papa to my two little guys, and he passed away about ten years after I was married. I was ALWAYS his little girl. We shared alot of special personal secrets and inside jokes. I just wanted to tell you about this because that program reminded me of it, and in honor of my Dad.

Thank you for sharing this. I think it is important to remeber the good times. I still have my father but we don't talk much since I have gotten married. He is upset that I got married I think. He gave me away at my wedding too. But he doesn't get along well with my husband because my mom has something against him. But that is a totally different story. I love to reminisce and think of all the happy times we have shared and hope that one day they will come around.

You should call up your dad and have a Daddy/Daughter lunch outing or something. Or send him a greeting card or something. Just let him know you love him and think of him. You don't want to let him think you have totally written him off. Maybe sometime you should with your mom too. Without hubby.
