If you are out and about with your family or running errands or whatever, if you see trash on the floor do you pick it up or just walk on past it?

I guess that really depends on who I'm with, where I'm at and what type of trash it is. If I'm with family, close friends or just myself sure. If I can deposit the trash close by I will as well. I won't put it in my car or someone else's. If it's messy trash or some sort of food bag I won't. If it's packaging, bags, paper or other solid substances, etc., yes. I can't stand people who litter. The thing about these people is that if someone were to dump trash in front of their house or neighborhood they would condemn it. You know the type, self righteous. ‹(°¿°)›

You're so right. One damn spark, that's all it takes. That goes back the part about their front yard. Until their house burns down, they don't care.

I wont let my kids do it because I'm afraid of germs and other things. I know the people you're talking about. They get to me too. Just the other day I watched this guy throw a cigerrate out his driver window and sparks flew everywhere. We were right next to a lot of trees with house nearby. All it takes is one spark and people along with trees could have been in danger.

Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't it really depends on what I'm doing and how quickly I have to do it. If I don't get it the first time around and I can run back and pick it up later I will. If I can't, then I won't do it.

Sounds fair. Sometimes it does depend.

I used to go to the local lake near my place with some friends , we used to have a bit of a picnic, they used to laugh at me because I would save a littl something for the ducks and then go around the lake and pick up bottles and rubbish that would be floating in the water and sometimes when I would get depressed I would go to the beach and walk along the each with a plastic bag and pick up bits of glass and rubbish, a lot of people think that is weird but I love doing it...

That does sound soothing.....kind of like washing dishes when sad. Good for you! You've inspired me.

This is a very interesting question. I personally don't, because I have a phobia of germs. I did not use to have this problem, but I have run into some pretty gross things in my lifetime. Like the time when I was talking on a pay phone and my mouth touched the reciever and it was wet. Actually, I have never seen anyone pick up something off the street, unless it was their job to do it.

I worry about germs too, but then I worry about my city going to the dumps and 1 over powers the other and before I know it I'm picking up the trashbag everyone has just passed by. I walk quickly to the trashcan and put it there. I wash my hands soon after. If there is something that is obviosuly icky than I leave it alone but I just can't walk by and let it dirty my city and kill some animal that comes along.

I see what you mean by a romantic date. I definetly wouldn't have done it when I was younger, but now....things have changed for me. I watch my city look dirtier and dirtier and I can't stand it anymore. I use to fear that if I did it people would think I was weird and so I didn't but now its slowly getting to the point that I dont care what anybody else thinks. I'm doing my part to keep my home, city and world clean and thats all that should matter I think.
