Bungee jumping?

Have you every bungee jumped? Would you like to try. Up until yesterday I would have said "NO WAY!" But I am reading Phil Keoghan's book N.O.W. No Opportunity Wasted and he has described his experiences bungee jumping. He says it lasts 8 seconds and you should keep your eyes open or you'll miss the enjoyment. It is a natural high that isn't illegal and doesn't burn brain cells. I think I want to give it a try now. If it only lasts 8 seconds what the heck? What are your feelings on bungee jumping?

I've never bungee jumped, and I doubt that I ever will. I wouldn't mind the feeling of freedom flying through the air on the way down, but that sudden snap back to reality when you reach the end of the rope... not so much. However, having said that, I have been on an inversion table a couple times and really enjoyed having gravity pull me up instead of down.

So you'd try sky diving then, BarBara?

LOL! It's not like I've made any definite plans. As with everything else in live, I need cash.

Bullriding only lasts 8 seconds too!! I think you should throw that book away right now! LOL! Maybe when i was younger i might have thought about it, but thats all, just thought about it. If you do this you are a braver man than i am. Should it happen i hope you enjoy and have fun! Take care Patgalca.

I am too old, with too many aches and pains to try this now. I sure if they had it when I was younger I would have done it. I parchuted 3 times and managed to break my leg doing it.

I am the same way but once in awhile you just have to let go. A couple of years ago I lay on a tube on my stomach being pulled by a sea-doo. I hurt for days afterwards because I had to use every muscle in my body to hang on, but it was worth it. I had a blast!

That's sounds like a great alternative to Bungee Jumping and Sky Diving. Wonder where I can find one of those. Thanks for giving me something ELSE to add to my life list, Patootie. LOL!

What I wouldn't mind trying is the zero gravity place .. a big tube with air rushing up it that holds you up .. now that sounds like HUGE fun ... I really fancy doing that .. very similar to freefalling but none of the yanking around when a parachute opens or hard landings ..

I am too old for this! Seriously, I couldn't do bungee jumping. I just don't have the confidence. in my younger days, perhaps, if bugeee jumping exhisted. My daughter however, is very much into thrill seeking & I can imagine she will try this when she is an adult.

There is just no way I would do that. My niece did it a few times. I always thought she was crazy for doing it. I would have a heart attack on the way down as I am scared of heights. I don't like things that are out of my control. What if the rope snaps? What a mess that would be. No, I am just too chicken.

NO WAY NO WAY NO WAY ... I have absolutely no desire to plunge headfirst into a gulley or off a bridge and trust to a piece of elastic stopping me from dashing my brains out (and it does happen from time to time you know!) ... My joints already hurt enough just sitting around let alone with all the tensions and pressures of being yanked up and down like a flippin' out of control yo-yo .. and in truth just looking at other folks doing it makes me know for sure it isn't anything I would enjoy or want to be a part of ..
