mahjong actually runs in our family... my dad used to play mahjong every night with some chinese businessmen in our province... my mom also plays mahjong with her friends regularly, it serves as their bonding activity... my brothers and i learned how to play mahjong when we were small and sometimes we play mahjong with my grandmother, my mom or her friends...

I've only ever seen it on the computer. I wouldn't even know if the pieces are cards, or blocks or whatever. I do enjoy it though. It's more relaxing to me than the Spider Solitare that I usually end up playing.

i agree to that, even thru internet playing mahjong is relaxing. wait 'til you see the blocks, it was really fun and enjoyable.. thanks.

I only play mahjong online, I've never even seen it as a live board game, don't think you can get it here. But I think playing online must be just about the same. I have seen 2 different types of mahjong online though and the one I had no clue how to play.

hi there, as far as I knew playing online is different compare to playing on the table. sometimes, the players uses "joker" to which the online game doesn't have it. this game requires "7 pairs" , "escalera" in order to win. :) thanks.

I was kind of interested to it when I was still a teenager, and it also happens that one of our neighbor knows how to play mahjong. He taught some of us on how to play, luckily they have mahjong pieces because they used to play it for pastimes. I find it fun and easy, but I can't seem to memorize all of the characters because they are too many. I'm also having hard time in keeping up with the 'salat' style, and my friend told me that I'll get used to it from time to time. But sad to say, they left their apartment where they rent and I haven't had another experience from playing it since then..

its okay, much better if you dont know the game. sometimes mahjong is not just for a play, money is involve too though only a small amount. it depends on the people playing though. thanks,.

I heard playing mahjong is good. In fact it is one recommended game. It simulates our brain and helps to prevent Alzheimer's disease. I have friends who played the game and are hooked at the table for hours.
Not sure if it is fortunate or unfortunate, I do not know how to play the game at the table. I only play the computer game - Tawiwan mahjong - and that is long time back.

Before, I used to.. haha Please excuse me because I'm a very forgetful person.. I've learned how to play that just last year when we went to Ormoc for a vacation at a friend's house.. That's what we usually do there to past time, it was fun playing it.. Did the Chinese invented it? Since some of the words etched on it are in chinese?

Oh yesssss, I do... I love playing Mahjong.
They have it in Pogo and have updated it recently so you can draw all different sets of tiles. That's just great, and it amuses me for hours because if I get bored, I can change to a different tile set... it tests you as well, remembering which is which matching tile in each set. But joking aside, I love mahjong in any shape or form.

Oh yesssss!! That's my fave, i love mahjong! WHat do you want, manila style or the aklanon way? hehe! .. Would you believe me and my siblings were influenced by our parents?They were the one who taught us to play mahjong, how about that. It comes from the blood actually. I believe that it comes from the blood. My parents also knew how to play it. By the way, are you good on recognizing the characters using your fingers? thanks.
