Easter or Christmas...Which has more meaning or significance for you?

There is a lot of commercialization surrounding these two Christian holidays, with Christmas being the most commercialized. For me, Easter is more significant because it means Jesus has fulfilled his mission here on earth. Christmas is important in that Jesus was born here in earth as man, but Easter is the reason he was born in the first place. He died for our sins and is now resurrected! Please share your opinion.

Easter is definitely more significant to me... right from Palm or Passion Sunday, through Holy Week to the Easter Vigil... However, the parish I'm in now is dying, in debt, and lacking a permanent pastor so it won't be the same. Last year, I was really rather disappointed about the lack of attendence on Good Friday -- maybe a couple dozen people came out. In the parish I belonged to in Vancouver, it was standing room only!

Neither holds any religeous significance for my family and i. however i do feel that Christmas is more significant since even the extended family gathers for xmas dinner together. whereas easter its pretty much each household for themselves.

Hi, thanks for your reply! I respect your opinion. Probably we should look at and understand the real meaning behind the holidays we celebrate and look beyond the surface.
