How do I discourage guys from approaching me/my friends at clubs?

My friends and I like to go out for drinks once in a while. Just a couple glasses of wine, or some cocktails, talk and catch up with each other, and basically just hang out. However, no matter how full our table may seem, men just keep trying to squeeze in and chat with us, although we obviously don't want them to. We've tried ignoring them, or telling them we were having a private discussion, and that seemed to work for a while, until they come back and ask whether the topic was over and if they could join us for drinks. Not even the "we're married" bit works because they still try. Can anyone help me with some sure-fire lines to tell these old geezers that we're not interested, and to please just leave us alone, without being downright rude to them? Sort of like the opposite of a pickup line. Please?

The whole men approaching women and women approaching men especially in a social venue such as clubs is a very common thing. Clubs are not just a place for private social gatherings..it is also a medium to gain acquiaintances, friends and even clients and a future partner. There's nothing you can do to prevent people from approaching you. You do not have control over them so if they approach you..you are not be blamed for that. The simplest and best way of discouraging them from having further contact with you is by saying NO. Be as polite as you can be when saying No...do not overdo it. That word can have a lot of consequences when not properly addressed. So if No doesn't work....the next best thing is offense. Excuse yourself and go to a different seat/table. That is one way of saying you are not interested at all. However, if they follow you and insist on communicating and you have exhausted all your options of saying no....call for help. Ask assistance from the in-house security. When you feel your space is being inaveded....there is nothing wrong with asking help from authority. That is your last resort. Have a great time.
