As the last part of my education we have a 7 months internship. I got my first offer a week ago, but the problem was that I was only offered $300 per week as opposed to my two male classmates that were offered $500 per week. We have the same grades and otherwise equal qualifications. I responded in a polite way if there was a possibility of receiving $400 per week instead, and since they haven't responded since, I think that I lost the opportunity. I guess it I shouldn't have asked for a higher pay since I didn't have any option yet, but I'm annoyed that they offered the guys so much higher starting pay. What would you have done?

What line of work is this? You probably really were discriminated against for being a woman, in which case I wouldn't want to work for them anyway. You have every right to be annoyed.

I complained and now they offer me 400 instead a week. I think that I will take it and hopefully soon prove to them that I am worth more.
