Is it really possible to eliminate corruption in the country? Are the politicians in the government to blame for the continuing downfall of the country or is it the lack of love for the country among Filipino people? One can only do so much, but it everyone will cooperate and show the love for the country, I guess garbage won't be scatter everywhere, jobs won't be a problem, crime won't be a threat, greed will not be in the mind of every government officials, investors will continue to come into the country and make business here. If each and everyone will have the discipline and the love for the country, I guess our economy will not drown into these unexplained debt from the World bank and the continuous downfall of the economy. Let's not think about what others will say, lets help our country for the best and not be a slave of the self interest and greed. Free ourselves from the dark side and start anew for the love of the country.

I guess you are right in your assessment. The problem with us Filipinos is the lack of nationalism -- love for our country -- so that we are so willing to sacrifice the greater good for our own interest. This kind of thinking is very much reflected everywhere we go in the country (of course, some exemptions are now sprouting. This kind of thinking had long been invaded our governmental structures resulting into massive graft and corruption. But who are these corrupt officials (and when I said corrupt officials I refer to all levels of our governmental heirarchy down to the barnagay tanods)? These are our fellow Pinoy countrymen. Graft and corruption could only be abated (not really totally eliminated) if the love of our country could seep into the consciousness of all Filipinos who at the time of election are the ones electing those in power. If only we love the country more than anything, I think 90% of our problems could easily be solved.

Well said my friend. We don't have the passion to do the something for the greater good. Politicians are liars. They change parties all the time. That is why whatever parties we will choose, the outcomes will just be the same. NO progress for us. Goodluck and thanks for the response!
