I've been a SAHM now for 2 years. My oldest is 5 years old. I worked full time up til 2 years ago. Now my dh works full time and I know he understands that being home full time is just as taxing at times as working an outside the home job, but I don't feel he's giving me enough "me time". I love my kids and I love being hom ewith them, but I'd like 2 hours a week to just be in a quiet room, or doing something I enjoy without interruption! I don't think I"m asking much, I give him as much time as he asks for when he needs time to himself, but I don't get that in return. I'd like to know how other SAHM or even SAHD get their downtime?

The extent of the me time that i get is when im in the shower kid free, which is about 30% of the time, and during nap time. No wait i missed one, i watch 2 tv shows a week, so i get those 2 hours where i lock myself in the room and leave the child to my husband. But that is all the me time that im able to get in. Sometimes it really drives me crazy, i want to scream or cry. Sometimes i get really frustrated and start getting grumpy, so i know i need a break, even if its just a few minutes outside. But when i start feeling like i cant deal with my child, i know its time to make my husband take over so i can have a few minutes to myself.

Sounds like me! I homeschool, so I don't even get the school-time break. Which is fine, it was my decision to homeschool, but I'd like at least one hour a week uninterrupted!

I get "ME TIME" on my husbands days off. He lets me rest and even sleep in on his days off and I also let him rest on at least one of his other days off because he does work full time and we both need some "ME TIME".

I get "me time" when the kids are at school. I also get "me time" when they go to bed at night. Now before they both were in school, the "me time" was limited to the evenings, after they'd gone to bed.

DS is 15 months and I've been a SAHM since his birthday. My "me" time is pretty much during naptimes and after bed. On the weekends, my DH works at a bar at night, so I have time on my own then too. I use that time for chores and cooking, but I also try to make time to do other stuff - be it messing around on the computer, reading a book or watching a TV show. It revives me for when DS wakes up.

I get some "me time" every tuesday and thursday because those are the days my daughter goes to preschool(my son goes Monday-Friday since he is kindergarten). I get 3 hours on those days all to myself. And then I get some more when my kids go to bed at about 7:45-8 pm. I have about 2 hours to myself then.
