No washing machines

No one can afford washing machines in Albert Square as they're always in the Vic, drinking away their money!

I often think about that. In this day and age most people have a washing machine! They just need the launderette as a meeting place don't they? That's where it all goes on! And they all have a service wash!

LOL yes that does make me laugh. My husband hates the show and if he's in the room when I'm watching it, he makes snidey comments like "Oh the Eastenders layabouts are all in the pub yet again, no wonder they can't afford to go on holiday!" Or "Do these people just live in the pub and the launderette? If they went to the pub less maybe they could afford a washing machine of their own!" Then again, we wouldn't wanna see dear old Dot out of a job now would we?!

hahaha i no what you mean. I was watching it and i thought why no washing machines. There not that poor, its just silly.

Maybe they don't have enough room in their homes to put a washer and dryer? The houses all look so small because they are kind of compact, so that's my answer lol.

I always thought that too. Its silly. and Ian and Phil are always supposed to have so much money but they live pretty shoddy lives on albert square. you'd think with their thousands they would have better houses.

I know what you mean, surely for all the money they pay out at the launderette, they can afford to buy one!
