My roomie has a fancy machine that allows her to record from LPs, 45s, 78s to CDs. We went thru my old 45 collection and put 18 of the songs on a CD for me & her. There were a few she had never heard of. Have you ever shared music on the internet? If so, you are getting out of my range of knowlege, but we spent an enjoyable hour or so playing with the music. She is also going to record off some LPs for a friend - NOW, before you get upset, these LPs are NOT on CDs and probably never will be. She is only making a copy for this lady because she is now in a nursing home & doesn't have room for the whole stereo arrangement or storage of LPs. Fact is, she will probably save the music on to her computer & put away the CDs even, she has CP & can't walk.

Interesting. I have piles of old LP's and other records which I would not mind putting onto CD. What's the machine called?

That sounds interesting. My mom's husband has half a closet filled with old LPs, and mom has a bunch from her sister. They still have a record player that works, though (his, heaven knows how long that will last). Way back when, mom used to have one too, and I still remember putting on the Grease soundtrack, or a Cat Stevens LP. Ipods just don't have the same personality, you know? Though I really do appreciate the portability....
